Starbrick Volunteer Fire Department, and particularly Assistant Chief Dave Zock, can have seen the fulfillment their challenge, their dream. After three years of paperwork and follow-up, it's a done deal.
Just before the July 4th holiday, Dave, along with Chief Kirk Foust and firefighters Ben Lore and Todd Wiltsie, travelled to New York City to pick up a steel girder, part of the wreckage from the World Trade Center towers – ten years after the attacks. The 5'foot 6-inch long, 277-lb. piece is a section from what was once a 6x20-inch I-beam used in the construction of the towers.
